Painting is like a spiritual practice…

A connection to something greater than the self, a tapping into a deep well of innate wisdom, trusting the process & allowing a message or insight to be revealed.

Since childhood creating has been Katey’s language which subsequently led her through art school in New Zealand and later into the study of Transpersonal Art Therapy in Australia. Katey soon discovered the healing power of art and the unconscious in supporting clients on their healing journey, while deep diving into her own channeling process in art, which became the heart of her personal practice.

Katey’s intention is to help people connect with themselves on a deeper level. Through painting and collage she offers more than images, she creates portals of insight, healing and reflection. Her work encourages a relationship with both the natural and the metaphysical, inviting viewers to reconnect with their own inner wisdom. An invitation of self-inquiry and curiosity, opening pathways to personal expansion and a wider perspective.

Katey’s art is distinctive for its fusion of Shamanic and Jungian influences. She opens a space where the sacred and the unseen can come alive on the canvas. With a rich, flowing palette, she weaves ritual, symbolism, and archetypes into visual form, trusting the process and allowing the logical mind to fall away. It is through this energy, faces, animals and forms emerge with each piece becoming a metaphor, a mirror, a guide, a story waiting to be felt as much as seen.

Alongside her original artworks, Katey also creates commissions that are uniquely attuned to the individual. These pieces are channeled with the same intuitive process, becoming soulful reflections of personal journeys, offering meaning and resonance that belong only to them.

Her art speaks to those who value well-being, self-discovery and spirituality and anyone drawn to the transformative power of art. For Katey, this is not just about making something beautiful to look at. It’s about creating art as a living dialogue between image and spirit, between the viewer and themselves. Her work has been exhibited in New Zealand and Australia, and is held in private collections in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Canada and the US.

“Being in nature clears the mind & speaks to the soul. It is both grounding & invigorating with an inspiration to be creative.”

“The knowing my art is speaking at a soul level, with healing and inspiration allows my heart to sing and makes the whole creative process so deeply meaningful.”
